WomenINvestEU Matchmaking on Digital Technologies

WomenINvestEU is organising a matchmaking event on digital technologies, an area of strategic importance for innovation and investment in Europe. This event, happening on 24 September, from 10:30 to 12:30 CEST, is a chance for digital startups that are led by women, including women in C-level positions, to pitch their solutions to the experienced, gender-conscious investors in our network focusing on digital technologies.

For this event, we are looking for startups that are developing digital technologies to deliver innovative solutions and applications across a wide range of industries or sectors. This can include technologies such as data analytics, cloud and Saas (software-as-a-service) platforms, AI, blockchain, cybersecurity and IoT (Internet of Things), among others.

Selected startups should be:

• women-led or have women in C-level positions;
• based in Europe;
• in the early stages of development (between TRL 3-7);
• developing a digital solution with a competitive advantage in the market.

The evaluation process and preparation for the event will follow the estimated timeline outlined below:

• 7 July – Deadline for applications;
• 8 July to 16 July – Evaluation of the applications;
• 17 July – Communication of the call’s results to the selected startups;
• 25 August to 23 September – Pitch training sessions with selected startups;
• 24 September – Event Day.

• This will be a valuable opportunity to level up your pitching skills and forge important connections with gender-conscious investors, creating opportunities for future deals.
• Before the event, selected entrepreneurs will be invited to dedicated training sessions to help them deliver the best pitch on the event day.
  • The sessions will focus on strategic topics such as your innovation disruption, team, product/service, go-to-market strategy, impact and financial plan. It will support you in preparing for your 5-minute pitch as well as the 4-minute Q&A with investors.
  • The training sessions will be scheduled according to the availability of each selected entrepreneur;
  • Online training sessions will be hosted in Microsoft Teams.
• During the matchmaking event, entrepreneurs will be able to introduce their startup to a curated list of members of the European Network of Gender-Conscious Investors with a track record in supporting women-led digital startups in their markets.
• Finally, entrepreneurs will get the chance to be invited to one-to-one meetings with interested investors after the event to explore potential follow-ups and deals.
